This is a full-time, permanent leadership position based at our Paddington Boutique, requiring flexibility to optimise performance during peak trading periods, including weekends and evenings.

Role Overview

As the Third in Charge (3IC) at Henne, you will play an integral part in supporting the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager to deliver exceptional client experiences, drive sales, and uphold operational excellence. You will act as a key leader on the floor, setting the tone for performance, presentation, and culture. Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager in leading and motivating the team to deliver an elevated, client-first experience.
  • Lead by example on the sales floor, ensuring every interaction reflects Henne’s service standards and brand values.
  • Take ownership of daily floor operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and team coordination.
  • Assist with training, coaching, and developing new and existing team members to maintain a culture of excellence and accountability.
  • Monitor individual and team KPIs, providing feedback and encouragement to drive performance.
  • Maintain visual merchandising and store presentation to align with Henne’s aesthetic and seasonal direction.
  • Support inventory management by assisting with stock processes, transfers, and minimising discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with operational procedures and support with reporting as required.
  • Act as the store leader when the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager are not present.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Previous experience in a retail or leadership role, ideally within fashion or premium apparel.
  • A genuine passion for fashion and a strong appreciation for Henne’s design philosophy.
  • A proactive and positive attitude, with a hands-on approach to leadership and teamwork.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build lasting client relationships.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Proven ability to achieve sales targets and contribute to overall store success.
  • Availability to work across weekends, late nights, and key trading periods.

Full-Time Opportunity – Hawthorn, Melbourne (Hybrid)

This role offers ownership, creative freedom, and close collaboration with our passionate in-house team, including Garment Technicians, Planners, and fellow Senior and Junior Designers.

About the role

As a Senior Designer at Henne, you’ll be central to shaping and evolving the creative direction of specific categories within our collections. You'll be responsible for balancing trend leadership with commercial success — from concept to execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the creative direction for assigned categories, balancing trend with commercial appeal
  • Research and source fabrics, trims and hardware, keeping ahead of global and local trends
  • Create sketches, concepts and detailed tech packs that bring ideas to life
  • Partner closely with Garment Technicians, Planners and suppliers to deliver high-quality samples and final product
  • Approve lab dips, fabrics and trims, ensuring every piece meets the Henne standard
  • Analyse sales data to evolve best-sellers, identify gaps and spot new opportunities
  • Maintain inspiration boards and design archives to support creative development
  • Drive innovation in sustainable design, new fabrications and creative reuse
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Merch Planning on product opportunities and future range building
  • Mentor and support junior designers, sharing your knowledge and encouraging creativity within the team

About You

  • 7+ years’ fashion design experience (womenswear preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of fabrics and textiles — denim/knitwear a bonus
  • Creative yet commercial mindset
  • Leadership experience with the ability to coach and inspire

About the Role

The Store Manager serves as the driving force behind boutique success, with comprehensive accountability for team leadership, commercial performance, and operational excellence. You'll strategically manage all aspects of boutique operations while mentoring the Assistant Store Manager and developing a high-performing team that consistently exceeds customer expectations and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guide and develop high-performing retail team to exceed customer service and sales objectives
  • Conduct strategic performance coaching and professional development sessions with direct reports including Assistant Store Manager
  • Support talent acquisition, comprehensive onboarding, and continuous training programs while creating inclusive, dynamic team culture aligned with organisational values

About You

Essential Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years progressive leadership experience in premium retail environments, preferably fashion or luxury brands
  • Demonstrated success in team development and performance optimization with measurable results
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding commercial targets and operational KPIs
  • Experience managing P&L responsibility and budget oversight
  • Background in change management and business transformation initiatives
